What is the difference between a cloud-native platform and a platform as a service (PaaS)?
Platform as a Service (Paas) is only the umbrella to cover your IT infrastructure i.e, providing the IaaS along with operating system layers. But Cloud-Native Platform is mostly built on containers or the services which are developed completely on clouds.
Public clouds are not only for the alternative of data center hosting. these days public clouds like AWS, Azure, GCP, and IBM clouds playing more role away from cloud hosting, cloud storage, cloud application data warehousing, to other more options like container services — EKS, ECS, AKS, GKE to bring cloud-native services effectively and to promote microservices, serverless transformation along with data analytics.
So, vitally once the option of choosing a cloud provider will become effective these days and also no one prefers vendor locking and wants someone who provides multi-cloud cluster solutions.
Thanks!
